Your custom night guard represents an investment in protecting your mouth from damage caused by grinding your teeth. The added comfort of a custom-fitted night guard encourages regular use. With basic care and maintenance your night guard can last for many years to come.

You should rinse the night guard with cold water, each morning to remove any bacteria or plaque that developed overnight. A wet night guard can harbor and encourage bacterial growth. Make sure the night guard is thoroughly dry before storing it in the case.

Brushing the night guard with a soft bristled toothbrush and nonabrasive toothpaste once a week insures the removal of any plaque buildup from the unit. It also helps to refresh the mouth piece. Washing the case with warm soapy water once a week will help to kill any bacteria that might transfer from the night guard.

A little wear and tear is to be expected and night guards do need to be replaced occasionally.
