Routine Cleanings & Exams

Protect and Preserve Your Oral Health with our Gentle, Stress-free Care

Routine dental cleanings (twice a year) are the single best way to support great oral health throughout every stage of life.

What takes place during routine dental visits?

During each office visit, you can expect to receive a thorough, yet gentle cleaning and exam.  Our patients also enjoy "extra comforts" like warm blankets and helpful oral health tips so you leave feeling confident and well cared for.

Your routine cleanings and exams include -

  • Examination of your gums, throat, and neck
  • Gentle removal of plaque and tartar around your gum line, as well as in between your teeth
  • Review and discussion of your oral and overall health
  • Review of any X-rays that may have been taken
  • Recommendations for any additional dental work (if and when needed)

While your at-home dental habits play an important role in the health of your teeth and gums, keeping your routine dental visits is absolutely vital as well.

Untreated tooth decay can lead to unnecessary pain, infections, and tooth loss, and can even lead to problems with eating, speaking, and learning.

Our role is to protect and preserve your teeth and gums through professional cleanings and thorough oral exams; these visits will significantly reduce your chances of cavities and gum disease.

Combining your at-home habits and routine visits will put you in the very best position to prevent a host of health issues and support optimal long-term health and well-being.

Remember...six-month cleanings also help save you time and money.

Some great ways to support your oral health at home include -

  • Brushing and flossing your teeth at least twice a day
  • Brushing your tongue (gently)
  • Eating a nutritionally-dense diet with plenty of vitamins
  • Minimizing sugary drinks and foods
  • Using a mouth rinse if recommended by your dental team
  • Examining your mouth regularly for anything abnormal
