If you have questions about brushing, then it could lead to an improper brushing routine. Considering the importance of brushing, this can be very damaging to the oral health and smile. So, our dentist, Dr. Jeryl Abbott, encourages you to find the answers to your brushing questions. To help you do so, she is happy to share the answers to the following commonly asked brushing questions:
Q: How often should I brush?
A: It’s recommended to brush twice a day (every morning and night). As you brush, make sure to scrub each tooth equally as well as brush for two minutes each time.
Q: What tools should I use to brush?
A: It’s recommended to use fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush. The fluoride toothpaste can strengthen your teeth and help you prevent cavities while the soft-bristled toothbrush can clean your smile and care for the gums.
Q: Can brushing hurt the smile?
A: If you use the wrong tools, brush for too long, fail to brush long enough or brush too hard, you can harm the teeth and gums. It’s best to gently brush the teeth for two minutes twice a day with the right tools.
